The Pearl Gifts for Everyone on Your List
Pearls are one of the few gifts I've never seen go wrong. They work for your mom, your sister, your best friend, and the person on your list who "doesn't really wear jewelry." The trick is picking the right pearl for the right person.
I pick every pearl and stone that goes into my pieces myself, so I know them pretty well. Here's how I'd shop for everyone on your list this year.
Pearl gifts for mom
Most moms already have a strand of round white pearls tucked away somewhere. Give her something that feels like a step up, not a repeat.
Honey — Edison Freshwater Pearl Necklace ($145). Edison pearls are big, round and full of luster. This is the one I'd give a mom who loves classic pieces but deserves something a little richer.
Cluster — Blush Pearl Bracelet ($80). Soft pink and easy to wear every day.
Clair — Freshwater Edison Pearl Earrings ($45). A simple pair she'll reach for constantly.
Pearl gifts for your best friend
For a friend, I'd go with something fun and a little unexpected, at a price that doesn't make things awkward.
Sway — Freshwater Pearl Tassel Huggie Earrings ($55). Huggies are easy to wear, and the tassel gives them movement.
Golden Hour — Coin Pearl Earrings ($45). Coin pearls are flat and shimmery, so they catch light in a way round pearls don't.
Macaron — Edison Pearl Bracelet ($65). Sweet without being too sweet.
For someone who doesn't usually wear pearls
A lot of people think pearls look too formal or "too grandma." Biwa and stick pearls change their mind fast. They're long, flat and organic, and they feel modern rather than prim.
Linea — Stick Pearl Necklace ($50). Clean and minimal, easy to layer.
Ridge Strand — Biwa Stick Pearl Chunky Chain Necklace ($145). Pearls on a chunky chain. This is the piece I'd give a skeptic.
Ridge — Stacked Biwa Pearl Earrings ($40). A small, low-risk way to try pearls.
And one for you
You've spent all season shopping for everyone else. These are the pieces I'd pick for myself.
Vesper — Baroque Pearl Necklace ($100). The baroque shapes make it feel like yours alone.
Alchemy — Golden Baroque Freshwater Pearl Chunky Necklace ($220). Golden baroque pearls, each one a different shape. A real statement piece.
Roselle — Pink Biwa Pearl Double Strand Necklace ($130). Two strands of soft pink, made for the holidays.

A few last tips
If you're not sure about her style, earrings are the safest choice. You don't need to know her size, and almost everyone wears them.
Order early. Every piece is made by hand in my Pittsburgh studio, so please order by December 10 if you want it to arrive before Christmas.
One more thing: if you join my newsletter, you'll get 10% off your first order. It's a nice way to stretch your gift budget a little further.
